Navjeevan Dhara started the Music Ministry in 1990. The Music Ministry is comprised of two parts. The first is the gospel music ministry in the local language and second is the Cassette/CD Ministry.
Gospel Music Ministry
Under the leadership of Pastor Paul, about eight men travel across Central India in a mini-bus loaded with sound systems, speakers, and microphones. The Navjeevan Dhara team visits prisons, public schools, colleges, villages, cities and various public places and conduct open air day and night praise and worship meetings. People come to hear this music. This gives the Navajeevan Dhara team an opportunity to share the good news of Jesus through the praise/worship songs and the Word of God in their local language. Every year almost 100,000 people hear our music and message crusades.
Cassette/CD Ministry
Navjeevan Dhara works with various talented professional singers to produce gospel praise/worship cassettes and CDs in various Indian languages & dialects to freely distribute to people. Many who receive these cassettes and CDs do not know how to read or write, but they have a cassette/CD Players in their home. Moreover they do not have a Bible or any Bible literature in their local language or dialect. Navjeevan Dhara's desire is to take the gospel to them in a way that they can fully comprehend.
Each cassette or CD will have 11 songs and a short message about the good news of Jesus Christ. Until now we have produced almost 100,000 cassettes and/or CD's in Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Malayalam and 3 tribal languages. The Indian constitution recognizes 22 different languages, however in reality there are 1652 different languages in India of which 350 are major languages. The need is urgent and we need to make more cassettes and CDs to reach more people for Christ, especially in the remote tribal areas. One of the cassettes/CDs that Navajeevan Dhara team has produced is Anugrah Dara (which means "River of Blessing").
On an average each cassette or CD translation and studio production costs run up to $1,150.00 (US Dollars). To make 1000 copies of cassettes the cost is $360.00 while 1000 copies of CD's cost $480.00. If you are motivated to support this ministry, please contact us.
